It seems that Stephen Colbert is fed up and is not ready to take it anymore.

Recently, the late-night host delivered an angry, pointed diatribe against the Republicans, U.S. President Donald Trump, and the Fox News in a live monologue on The Late Show on Wednesday night that was followed by a chaotic and upsetting day in Washington D.C.

In an attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of power to the incoming President-elect Joe Biden, thousands of rioters and Trump protestors stormed the Capitol building. Four people including a woman died who was reportedly shot by law enforcement.

Furious Colbert started his pointed monologue by saying that he’s rarely been as upset as he was on that night. He asked if they have all had enough or not. After five years of coddling the President’s fascist rhetoric, he asked the people to guess as to whose followers want to burn down the Reichstag. He asked specifically by directing the questions to the Republican members of Congress.

He continued to ask that who out of them could have seen this coming. Perhaps, everyone, he answered. Even the dummies like himself, he added by occasionally pointing his finger at the camera. According to him, this is the most shocking, most tragic, and the least surprising thing he could have ever seen.

For over the years, people have been telling the crowd cowards and that if they let the President lie about their democracy over and over, and then finally join him in that lie. He also added that he’s right when they know it for a fact that he is not and that there will be a terrible price to pay. But it’s just that the people dint think that they need to pay it too.

He further targeted Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who was reportedly caught on camera with his fist raised as he entered the Capitol building before all the chaos.

Colbert said that raising a stupid fist to the mob outside the Capitol is like Black power but the opposite. There really should be a name for that and obviously, he has to keep his fist closed, because if he would have opened it, then everyone could see all the blood on his hands.

He then went on to Fox News sarcastically asking if maybe the years of peddling Trump’s conspiracy theories had anything to do with all of this.

He added later on that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.

Finally, he concluded by saying that when all of those Republicans who make no mistake, are held responsible for what had happened and are running for re-election in 2022, all must remember them for who they show themselves to be today, cynical cowards who believe that the voters should not get to choose who governs the country. All they can now do is to hope that the voters rove them all wrong.
