10 Cows Starved To Death By Villagers in Madhya Pradesh for Destroying Crops

A disheartening incident has set another height of inhumane behavior after the news of animal cruelty in Gwalior came to light. According to reports, more than 10 cows were starved to death by the villagers of Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior village.

Allegedly the cows destroyed them due to which the villagers in the village locked them inside a room of a government school. They were not given food and water for a week. The incident got the attention of media when the mortal remains of the hapless cows were brought out and getting prepared for burial. A JCB machine was brought to bury the carcasses.

The administration soon took action after the local people came to know about the terrible incident. The Police and the Sub Divisional Magistrate immediately reached the spot and seized the JCB machine. The JCB machine operator eloped from the location out of fear of the interrogation. He was later caught by the police and questioned.

After the cow vigilantes came to know about the incident, they staged a blockage demanding an inquiry into the manner. Even after they were assured by authoritative bodies like SDM, the vigilantes were not ready to leave and continued with their protest.

After a lot of rumpuses, an FIR was filed against some unidentified persons along with the JCB operator.

Also, it has been reported that while the cows were locked inside, the school was open and neither the students nor the teacher informed anybody about the matter.

SDM Raghevendra Pandey said that the bodies of the cows have been dug out and sent for post-mortem, he also ensured that strict action will be taken after the completion of the investigation.
