An increase of two percentage points is registered by the outlook in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the quarter in December and these are great signs for the Indian economy.

It is very much expected by the sector that in 2021 it is going to drive the job market in the first quarter that includes construction, mining, real estate, insurance, and finance. Negative growth is expected by all other sectors in this quarter according to the survey.

The market is gripped by the overall positive sentiments as there are healthy signs of recovery shown by corporate India. The Indian economy is sustained by a lot of structural factors over the years like demography, diversified economy, and geopolitical stability that has played a pivotal role in the new normal.

The Group Managing Director of ManpowerGroup India, Sandeep Gulati has said that self-dependence and competitiveness are great influencers besides the attention to policies and the government measures that are spurring the investment sectors.

The festive season has already started and gradually the momentum is gained by the economy. An optimistic outlook is also depicted by the employers to bounce back in terms of hiring in the coming six to nine months.

As per the survey made by the ManpowerGroup that also included the Covid-19 impact, almost 65 percent of the employers has reported that they are going to return to a stage of pre-covid-19 hiring in the next nine months in comparison to the quarter in December.

In small-sized organizations, one can see the strongest hiring outlook followed by large and medium organizations. From the perspective of a region, a more positive outlook is indicated by the East followed by the West.

Furthermore, Gulati has added that the recent reform bills on labor passed in the Lok Sabha is also going to benefit the employers and the labor force alike. The reforms on labor were long overdue as the recent laws have been antiquated.

The landscape of the economy has been changing and one must holistically look at the labor-related issues. The multiplicities of authorities and definitions are going to remove the codification of the labor laws to ease of compliance according to him.

ManpowerGroup has interviewed more than 38000 employers globally in 43 territories and countries on hiring prospects in the very first quarter of 2021.
