The executive producer of Grey’s Anatomy, Krista Vernoff has recently made a shocking revelation during Tuesday’s Television Academy’s Quaranstreaming: Comfort TV That Keeps Us Going panel. It is said that the Grey’s Anatomy’s Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital shall be taking on the prevailing corona virus pandemic during their upcoming Season 17.

She further stated that they are certainly going to address this pandemic. She added that there’s no point in being a long-running medical show if they couldn’t cover the biggest medical story of their lifetimes.

On the panel, Vernoff was accompanied by Grey’s Anatomy stars Chandra Wilson who plays the role of Dr. Miranda Bailey, and also Kevin McKidd, who plays the role of Dr. Owen Hunt.

She further disclosed that the writers of the show have been meeting up with the real-life doctors who are thereby sharing their stories about how life has been while working on the front lines during the pandemic.

During the panel, Vernoff stated that as it had happened in the previous years that the doctors have come forward to share their stories which were mostly funny or crazy. But the scene has changed drastically this year, with them sharing stories that mostly sound like a therapy.

She added that during their meet, the doctors come in and talk about the kind of experiences they have had so far while trying to hide their tears. They tremble and turn pale while talking about the instances and it seems that they have witnessed war, a war that none of them were trained for.

And all of this has been one of the biggest conversations about Owen, who is trained for this in a particular way that most of the other doctors aren’t.

Krista further went on to say that it has been really painful to listen to all the doctor’s experiences and the suffering of the patients.

She added that her show has an opportunity and also a responsibility to tell some of these stories to the public.

The shooting for Season 17 has not yet started but Vernoff stated that the writers are already working hard for creating stories for Grey’s Anatomy cast. According to her statement, they have tried their level best to install humor and romance while they deliver these really painful stories.

Back in 30th March, to celebrate National Doctor’s Day, the cast of Grey’s Anatomy had shared a video message for the real-life doctors and nurses who have been consistently fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

She added that all of them just wanted to say a big thank you to every health care worker who has been battling relentlessly on the front lines during this pandemic. The caption clearly showed their gratefulness towards them for their sacrifice.

The caption also announced that Barco Uniforms, the company that makes scrubs for Grey’s Anatomy would be donating 10000 scrubs per month to any needy health care worker.

The post ended by urging everyone to go visit their profile to fetch further information and share the same with everyone else.
