Rock band Greta Van Fleet Releases New Single ‘Heat Above’ and Reveals LP Tracklist
Michigan rock band Greta van Fleet recently came out with their soaring new single, ‘Heat Above’. The single was released just ahead of their upcoming and highly anticipated sophomore album called The Battle at Garden’s Gate. The record is set to release on April 16 through Lava/Republic Records. The band who has many highly accomplished hits in the past such as ‘My Way, Soon’ and ‘Age of Machine’ also revealed the tracklist for their upcoming LP.
In an interview with the band, keyboardist and bassist Sam Kiszka shared that the world still retains a lot of love that might not be conspicuously visible every day. Their new song, ‘Heat Above’ is about the same theme and rising towards enlightenment together.
The song was debuted on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe’s show where Kiszka shared that song was in the making for years. He also said that that this song is more of a thesis in the record. He also shared that the song bridges the gap or the creative connection between their previous album and the newest one.
Speaking about their upcoming album, ‘the Battle at Garden’s Gate’, he said that the creative direction is extremely dynamic, to say the least. The album reaches its entirety with the components of each song. The album can be considered as a puzzle with the song playing the role of each piece and to make the equation valid, every element must be present together. There is also thematic linearity between the songs as they are weaved into a linear stream through a thematic resonance. He said that the record will present an evolved creative state of the band Greta Van Fleet, something that the audience has not experienced before.
The Battle at garden’s Gate comprises string orchestras, explorative songs, and a visual story that is built through the chronological course of the song. The band also promises to expand its creative boundaries with this album and reach the pinnacle of accomplishment. The album is not just about presenting themes through their music. They have added an extra ingredient to their vision of artistry that will accompany a 16-page booklet with the physical copies of the album. The booklet will be a captivating saga full of transcendental, mythical visuals and metaphysical symbols, and definitions in the backdrop of each song from the album.
