Top Gear Trio Chemistry Brought UK-Based Trips, James Bond, And Mid-Life Crisis

Top Gear has put its show on top gear with its new strategies while other shows are about to lose their live audience.

This TV show has been actively thriving throughout the series of lockdowns. Top Gear’s last season filmed the series as a drive-in, making it an outdoor event and evoked the crowd.

It was a perfect idea; a TV show about cars and their audience and the hosts in their cars.

However, with the tightening of the COVIS restrictions, the drive-in concept has to go in winter. Top Gear started to film their next episodes at the courtyard in West London. This idea lets the residents watch the show from their windows.

The famous trio of the show was excited about this new idea. Freddie Flintoff joked, “If Paddy McGuinness was performing in my garden, I’d shut my curtains.”

On the other hand, Chris Harris added, “You can imagine some old lady opening her window, demonstrating, shouting, ‘Shut up!'”

But the idea seemed to be quite fruitful as the location felt to be perfectly fitting with the show. The residential complex where the show was filmed was a part of the BBC’s Television Centre headquarters. However, it turned into a luxurious complex in 2013.

Including the rude disgruntled neighbors, the 30th series of Top Gear features exotic James Bond cars, an amazing Brit landscape, and a mid-life crisis for three car lovers.

The show regained some lost ground with BBC One and their renewed chemistry among the three hosts.

The greatness of the show is that due to travel restrictions in the UK this show didn’t lack ideas; a show which exclusively ventures around the globe for its episodes.

Chris Harris said, “What’s been surprising is how the UK has given us enough visual material to make the show.” He further added, “It’s reminded us that a large part of the show is about how interesting the cars are, and the chemistry between us and the fun we’re having.”

Harris further explained, “Top Gear is a show that people expect to be filmed abroad at times, but I think in the new world, after Covid, maybe we won’t go abroad as much as we did before. That’s not a bad thing, because we all hate airports.”

On the other hand, McGuinness particularly enjoyed the episode in Scotland for its “absolutely stunning scenery”.

But Flintoff preferred the Lake District more and said “it seems a lot of people don’t know how beautiful it is, so it’s just a chance to show off all these places in the UK. But I think we’re all ready for a trip abroad at some point as well.”

Also, this show has featured a “mid-life crisis” episode, where the trio has embraced their middle-aged crisis and tastes.

The show has garnered huge viewing figures which is more than 5.5 million per episode.
