The Defending Champion Australia Is Going To Host The 2022 T-20 World Cup Starting From 16th October

Australia the defending champion of the t-20 world cup will host the league in 2022. Team Australia will play their first match in the world cup against New Zealand in October 2022. The T-20 world cup will start on 16th October and end until 13th November.

However, the most interesting and anticipated match between two age-old rivals India and Pakistan will be played on 23rd October. For both nations, the match between their teams is a special occasion.

T-20 cricket is the most-watched format of cricket. The growing popularity of the format keeps the emotion of the people always high. 12 teams are going to participate in the main matches of the tournament.

The host Australia is in the same group as New Zealand. Last year in November, Australia won the World Cup against Newzealand in the Final in Dubai. So, it can be said that the match will take the audience to the moment where it ended last time.

For the T-20 world cup, 4 teams of each Group A and Group B will play in Group matches to qualify for the Super 12 phase of the tournament. The super 12 teams will further be divided into two groups.

Group 2 of Super 12 features India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and the Group B winners and Group A runners-up.

Group 1 will of super 12 will have teams in New Zealand, Australia, England, and Afghanistan and winners of Group A and runners-up of Group B.

So, in total 16 nations will be participating in the tournament. The matches will be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, and Sydney.

Srilanka and Namibia will be facing each other in the first-round tournament opener in Geelong on 16th October.

ICC T-20 WorldCup organizing committee CEO, Michelle Enright told, “The release of the fixtures will give the fans the opportunities to start planning for the world cup experience…” By having matches across the nation in seven host cities …We are hoping as many people as possible will be able to experience the incredible atmosphere.”

The stage for the most-awaited contest for cricket lovers is under preparation. October, undoubtedly, will be the month of celebration for cricket fans worldwide. Fans have shown their excitement on various social media platforms.
