Koei Temco’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms series is quite different compared to their action-packed musou franchise Dynasty Warriors. In both the games, the storyline and characters are pretty similar, as in both cases the users have control over one of the three major kingdoms of China. There are three options available for gamers to choose from: Shu, Wu, and Wei kingdoms. Each of the kingdoms provides access to different characters.
But, when it comes to the gameplay, players will have different experiences. In the case of the historical strategy game Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV, the gamers need to be smart and plan their attack, before jumping into the battle. One wrong move could cause huge damage to their forces and land.
The official website was recently updated and new information regarding the game Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV was provided by Koei Tecmo. Additional details about the gameplay, characters, and a new promotional video were provided as well.
As stated by Koei Tecmo, in Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV, players will get access to the entire map of China and can take the fight anywhere around the entire country. Warfare consists of battering rams, catapults, battles on the water with various assault boats. The gamers would also get the opportunity to seize famous landmarks of China, such as the Yangtze River and the Yellow River.
The game has been updated with area overseers that can protect the center of the kingdom’s land. Overseers would help in suppressing the surrounding areas and stop the supply lines of the enemies. As the players keep fulfilling the requirements, the cities widen, making it much harder for the enemies.
The characters are the highlight of the series. RoftTKXIV consists of the maximum numbers of officers in the series, with over 1000 options to choose from.
Koei Tecmo also revealed that many new characters, such as Xun Yu, Lu Meng, Xu Shu, Xiahou Yuan, etc. would be released in the series.
The gamers will be given a lot of options to choose from the main three kingdoms. And, from the ‘other’ kingdoms, the players can choose between Dong Zhou, Lu Bu, and Diao Chan.
Players can use the characters’ unique abilities and lead the forces to achieve triumph over their enemies.
The ‘Battle of Yiling’ DLC is planned to be released two weeks after the game’s actual release. But, if the gamers preorder the game, they would be provided with this DLC, as a bonus. The Battle of Yiling had occurred between Sun Quan of Wu and Cao Cao of Wei.
The romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV is set to be released on PC and PlayStation 4 in Japan, on 16th January 2020. The gamers of the western region can access the game from 28th February 2020.
