Over the years, many games have come and gone from the market with active players almost always dynamically completing each one of them with utmost finesse. However, the research goes beyond the competency of Denuvo as with time, game file sizes are becoming increasingly large for pirates to keep up with its pace. One the other hand, download streaming services like Origin, battle.net, and Steam have always given users flexibility especially with large files.

This means that torrent trackers are continuously struggling to maintain the large file size without losing important parts of the download. As a result, users have to wait for long weeks before they can pirate the right software package of these games. Apart from that, they also need to have ample space on their system to keep the package. Hard drives might be becoming cheaper by the day but pirates are not always consistent with their income and hence, the delay.

In latest news, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare May Hold The Record For Largest Game Size At 190GBOwing to the massive size of the game, it will probably also be one of the most difficult to pirate as well. The game size has created a remarkable history in the salient existence of PC games. But this size is expected to go up with the inclusion of more content and patches in the title around the time for the post-launch support. PC flight sims might as well break the record with this one but file downloading can be customized depending on what kind of experience the user is looking for. To just launch the game, no one has to download a mandatory 20GB file all at once.

With the 190 GB version already floating around the piracy market, many gamers are already frustrated with the stuck download and updates. These initial formalities are not the most engaging part of the game and to play both the single-player and multiplayer campaign, the entire file size needs to be downloaded to stay updated.

This has waged another issue before the developers of Infinity Ward. It seems like as CoD continues to expand, it might require a full TB of space. The question with the developers is now whether to offer piecemeal downloads of CoD altogether so that players can manage their packages better.

A 190 GB game request is not convenient and lies on the contrary to the requirements of the gaming community. There are other titles too that are beating this size if mods are taken into consideration. Skyrim reaches an easy 200GB with mods while ARK: Survival Evolved can reach up to a TB on servers and other mods.

The solution to this does not imply an exponential increase in download sizes of games.

Although the storage problem is one of the major difficulties in maintaining games with growing download sizes, developers must also take matters into hands before it becomes a bigger issue. The solution may lie in streaming across servers on-demand as and when users want to access particular files. Separating language packs can be a solution and removing cut-scenes could also be another (like in the case of Quantum Break). Moving these entire to a developers run streaming service might help customers and gamers with the issue of space constraints.
