FA Cup Semifinals Draw with: Manchester United vs. Chelsea and Manchester City vs. Arsenal


        

 

 

The lists of all the teams who have successfully made it to the semifinals of the English FA Cup are finally here, and they are Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea. The teams have triumphant over their rivals in the previous round and are now going to appear at Wembley on the 18th and 19th of July.

The pairs for the FA Cup Semifinals: Man City Against Arsenal, Man Utd Versus Chelsea. The United was the first one to reach the semi-finals as they beat Norwich the day before on the road, 1-2. The Red Devils were comparatively better after the extra-time with Harry Maguire scoring as the winner of the game in the 118th minute. It was previously seen that Ighalo netted for the guests and Todd Canwell for the Canaries.

Today the game enthusiasts were able to see three games, the first one in the Sheffield where United lost to Arsenal during the last moments of the game. It was Dani Ceballos who was the scorer in the first minute of the injury time that caused an eruption of joy on the Gunners’ bench. What contributed to the guests’ celebration was the fact that it was only four minutes earlier that United leveled the result through David McGoldrick. And, it was Nicolas Pepe who had scored from the penalty in the 25th minute of the first half.

After all this, came the derby of the round in Leicester where City awaited Chelsea. The final result turned out to be, 0-1 for the Blues, with Ross Barkley giving the only goal in this contest in the 67th minute. The English midfielder executed followed by William’s assist.

However, the game brought disappointment to many as unlike what everyone had expected, the game wasn’t very interesting and apart from a few other situations, this is the only thing that is worth mentioning.

During the closing match of the day, Newcastle had hosted Manchester City and lost quite easily. It was the Sky-Blues that won without many problems, 0-2, that neutralized the Magpies in almost every aspect of the game.

The game saw Kevin de Bruyne scoring a penalty in the 37th minute of the match, and Raheem Sterling doubled the lead in the 67th.

As expected, City was the one to control the flow of the match and did not allow the hosts to have the slightest hope of making a surprise.

Finally, during the halftime of the last game, the FA had organized a draw with the legendary Alan Shearer who had conducted the same. The pairs for the semifinals were decided by the former Newcastle striker.
