The 2K21 edition of NBA is set to feature three famous cover athletes

The NBA 2K series has always an essential component of the basketball community. First started in November 1999, NBA 2K has gained millions of basketball fans as players across the globe.

The users play this game for many reasons, but one of the most renowned and talked-about components that can be known from the fact that NBA 2K21 announces three cover athletes

The cover-athlete is the face that the players get to see during the start of the game. Be it the disc from the box or the digital download, the chosen cover-athlete is going to be seen by many basketball fans and the players and is generally a prolific athlete in the global NBA community.

It ranges from Chris Paul to Allen Iverson, all the way to Michael Jordan and LeBron James, the NBA 2K series has always featured many famous faces in their covers. But, 2K21 is going to be different due to the three different covers.

Every cover is going to be different in perks. The current-gen version is going to be graced by Damian Lillard and the next-gen version will be graced by Zion Williamson.

The Legend Edition of the game is equipped with much virtual currency, myPLAYER apparel, myTEAM points, and clothing, as well as packs for myTEAM will feature is going to feature one of the greatest basketball players in the history of the game.

The Legend Edition of 2K21 has been renamed for the season. It is titled ‘Mamba Forever Edition’, as Kobe Bryant will be remembered and honored on the cover of the game in both the current and next-gen versions of the title.

Kobe Bryant had featured as the cover athlete for the 2K series for 2K10. He had also featured in 2K17 apart of the Legend Edition.

The 2K21 edition is going to be the first cover for both Zion Williamson and Damian Lillard. Damian Lillard had previously featured on the NBA Live 15 cover, produced by EA Sports.

The future edition of the series is being developed from the base for the next-gen consoles. 2K is also introducing new initiatives to connect the two versions of the game, which also includes myTEAM Cross-Progression and a shared VC wallet with the same console family.

Alfie Brody, the Vice President of Global Marketing at 2K Alfie said that the three cover athletes represent different areas of the game of basketball.

NBA 2K21 will be launched on September 4, this year.
