Cameron Diaz Welcomes Second Baby Boy At The Age of 51
Actress Cameron Diaz surprised her fans when she announced that she had become a mother for the second time. She and Benji Madden had their first child in 2019. The actress and her husband announced the birth of an ‘awesome’ baby boy, Cardinal, in an Instagram post on Friday. People said in a new report that the 53-year-old actress was thrilled to be a part of a four-member family with Benji, 45, and their two children — daughter Raddix, and now Cardinal. Their daughter Raddix was born in 2019 via surrogacy. However, her son’s exact birth date is yet to be revealed. According to a source in People, “They (Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden) were always hoping for a second baby because they love being parents… for years, Cameron wanted to be a mom. She gets very emotional when she talks about the long journey to motherhood. She feels beyond lucky to now have two children.”
On Friday Diaz and her musician husband Benji shared an Instagram sharing this wonderful news with their social media followers. They said they were ‘blessed and grateful’ to have welcomed a baby boy — Cardinal Madden to their family. The couple announced the arrival of their baby boy on Instagram which each one of them shared in their feed, in a joint post. Their caption read, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kid’s safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any pictures – but he’s really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours…” “We are feeling so blessed and grateful,” read the post, which included an illustration with the words, “A little bird whispered to me.”
Cameron Diaz is a world-renowned actress who is known for he roles in movies like ‘The Mask (1994)’, ‘There’s Something About Mary (1998)’, ‘Charlie’s Angels (2000)’ and ‘The Holiday (2006)’, among many others. She married musician Benji, who is a part of the band Good Charlotte, in 2015. The couple had a whirlwind romance for 7 months before finally tying the knot in front of friends such as Christina Applegate, Drew Barrymore, and Gwyneth Paltrow. They reportedly were married in an intimate ceremony which was at their home. “We got married in our living room in front of our friends,” Cameron told radio host Andy Cohen. “Had a little party in our backyard on the tennis court and yeah. Otherwise, it would have been something else.”
Since then, it has only been a paradise for the couple. They also used Instagram in January 2020 to announce the birth of daughter Raddix. They mentioned that their daughter was born in December 2019. The two said at that time that they didn’t plan to share more photos or details about their daughter, in order to protect their family’s privacy. The actress took a break from acting in 2014, however, her first comeback movie in a decade is set to premiere this year. Alongside Jamie Foxx, Cameron will be seen in an upcoming Netflix film Back in Action, also featuring Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, and Kyle Chandler.
