Yuvraj Singh Could Be Seen Playing For Punjab By Coming Out Of Retirement

The famous Indian southpaw, Yuvraj Singh could be seen in action and try his luck in the domestic circuit for his team Punjab. The flamboyant Indian middle-order batsman spoke to Cricbuzz on hoe he wants to help Punjab. The 38-year-old batsman has already retired from domestic and international cricket last year.

Yuvraj has realized by working with young talents like Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Anmolpreet Singh, and Prabhsimran Singh that he has been hitting the ball very well in spite off the fact that he has been off the field for a quite a long time now.

He said that his time with the youngsters have been quite enjoyable as he shared various aspects of the game with them. He said that the youngsters were very quick to pick up different things that he has been telling them. Yuvraj confirmed his plans for a comeback as he spoke to Cricbuzz and said that he had to enter the nets to display certain elements to them and he was pleasantly surprised with the fact that he has been hitting the ball very well given the fact that he did not hold the bat for quite some time now.

He also said that he trained for two months and also started batting at the offseason camp and made quite a few runs at the practice matches. The secretary of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), Mr. Puneet Bali, approached him at the end of a particular session and asked him to reconsider coming out of his retirement.

Yuvraj admitted that initially, he was not very sure to take up the offer from him. He already had a stint in the domestic circuit and pretty much done with it but he had plans to continue playing in other leagues worldwide that are franchise based provided he gets permission from BCCI.

It has also been reported by Cricbuzz that Yuvraj Singh has sent a mail to Sourav Ganguly, BCCI President and Jay Shah, secretary, and was seeking their permission to come out of retirement. He sent the message very clear that if he gets a chance to play for Punjab again, he is not going to play outside of the country.

Yuvraj is keeping his fingers crossed and said that if he gets the nod, he will be playing the T20s only as things are standing right now.

Shabnam Singh, Yuvraj’s mother said that he still has got the same passion for the game. Her mother has been a constant support in his life and stood by him like a rock constantly.

Shabnam Singh told news outlets that once he comes back from Dubai in a couple of days, then there can be a long chat around it.

There was also a buzz on Wednesday that he was going play in the Big Bash League but the rules of BCCI do not allow as one has to retire first.
