Former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro had a tragic demise leaving the whole wrestling fraternity disheartened

According to the latest WWE News, the sports world has incurred a great loss with Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro passing away at the age of 39 years old. As per reports from The Blast, Diva was being transported to a Smithtown, New York hospital on early Thursday morning after the law enforcement officials had responded to a rescue call. However, the cause of death remains uncertain and is currently undergoing investigation to claim it as non-criminal.

During the 2005 Diva Search, a reality program that featured female cast members who are looking to enter the wrestling industry to compete for a spot on the WWE roster, Ashley had thereby joined the WWE during that time.

Massaro was in-fact discovered by a casting director while she was competing in a swimsuit pageant. She went ahead to win the competition that included a one year contract with the company and also a whopping prize of $250000.

Shortly after her win, Massaro started working for the wrestling production and trained with Fit Finlay, Ricky Steamboat, and Trish Stratus before she finally departed from the company on July 9. 2008. News says it that the WWE had granted her request to leave the industry as Massaro wanted to shift focus on her daughter who had fallen seriously ill then.

During her time with the company, many storylines put their main focus on the physical looks and appeal of the women who were competing rather than the in-ring talent of those participants. Speaking of which, Ashley has had some notable feuds with Mickie James and Torrie Wilson. Moreover, she also went onto participate in several bras and panty matches, a bikini contest, and also a lingerie pillow fight.

Massaro was reportedly sidelined for a couple of months in 2006 after she fractured her left fibula during a Woman’s Battle Royal, which implied that she would never hold the Diva’s title.

Her two high profile appearances with The WWE had helped her increase her popularity amongst her fans. Massaro was also featured in Playboy magazine and had also participated in Survivor: China, the 15th season of the popular reality series. However, she was voted off the show in the second season by a vote of 6-1, where she made it in the season for only six days.

Massaro had planned to return to wrestling on the independent circuit in 2017 and had even hinted this news sometime earlier this year as she was preparing to return to the ring shortly.

Ashley Massaro was even involved with the class-action lawsuit that was dragged to court against WWE by Konstantine Kyros. It was said that the lawsuit alleged the company had concealed risks of injury which had further caused them neurological damage. However, the lawsuit was ultimately dismissed.

Apart from her wrestling career, Massaro had even modeled, acted, and even appeared in several music videos.

The WWE offered their heartfelt condolences over social media as they wrote how saddened they are to know about the demise of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro. Her tragic death has left them also disheartened. They also wrote how Massaro had performed in WWE from 2005- 2008 and was beloved by all her fellow Superstars and fans from all over the world.

They ended the message by sharing condolences with Ashley’s family and friends.
