Another one comes forward to join the Black Lives Matter movement and this time it is the reggaeton singer who took to his platform to encourage the whole of Latinx community to use their voices and show some support to the movement. As huge outrage is spread all over the country over the senseless murder of George Floyd, this comes as another shout out.

J Balvin Pleads With The Latinx Community To Stand With Their Black ‘Brothers And Sisters’ Amid ‘Black Lives Matter’ Protests – ‘Do Better!’ To show his unity towards the victims of racism and police brutality, J Balvin joined the protest online.

The post uploaded by him was bilingual, and was written in both English and Spanish, and that although he is someone who likes to bring in light, love, and joy to people, at this particular time all liveliness and celebration seem to be out of place.

He went on to explain that rather this is the time he feels he should educate himself and also his loved ones to take charge of the situation. He also added that after he has taken some time to speak to those close to him, he has decided to educate himself on the deep significance and also the horrifying history that seems to be the root of the #blacklivesmatter movement.

The singer then promised to do better as a human being, as an artist with a public platform, and also as a Latino person.

He even added how he appreciates the fact that it is his responsibility as a leader in the Latino community to educate himself about the plight of the Black citizens in America. He intends to learn all about their struggles and the ongoing, systemic racism that they have to face every day, and most importantly, he wishes to learn how he can be a better ally, and help change the system through his voice, and actions.

J Balvin also added that since the Latinx community is also a minority that often faces discrimination in the States, he would encourage people to take part in it and help the Black community during this hard time as much as they would want themselves to be helped.

Balvin encouraged that being a minority themselves they are well aware of the small part of pain they get to live every day and therefore they must help their brothers and sisters fighting the same.

The Black Lives Matter movement has already encountered several other Latin artists supporting it. People can now check out some other posts from stars such as Becky G, Ricky Martin, and Jencarlos Canela as well.
