Abu Dhabi is the second most populous emirate in the United Arab Emirates and it is going to restrict access to restaurants, shopping malls, cafes, and also other public places from 15th June to those people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or recently have tested negative.

The new rules have been announced late on Wednesday as the United Arab Emirates which is a federation of seven emirates has seen the daily cases rise over the past three weeks. The UAE still has not given a breakdown for each emirate and it has recorded 2179 new infections on Wednesday which was up from the tally of 1229 on 17th May.

The restrictions are also going to be applied on gyms, hotels, and all other facilities, beaches, public parks, entertainment centers, swimming pools, museums, cinemas and it has been said by the media office of Abu Dhabi.

Visitors will have to prove that they have been vaccinated or they have recently tested negative through the Covid-19 app of the country. The app displays the individual’s testing and vaccination history.

The mobile app will show green if the person has been vaccinated or has tested negative.

Individuals who have not been vaccinated will need to be tested every three days to maintain their green status. A fully vaccinated person will do so every 30 days.

This has been announced by the United Arab Emirates last month that from the 6th of June attendance at social activities and live events including bars and weddings is going to be limited to those people who could prove that they had been vaccinated.

The United Arab Emirates has got one of the highest inoculation rates in the world with the Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Sinopharm vaccines available to residents and citizens.

In the city of Abu Dhabi, those immunized with the Chinese-made Sinopharm shot are also able to take a dose of Pfizer/BioNTech as a booster.
