Aung San Suu Kyi Of Myanmar Appeared In Court For The First Time Since The Coup

The deposed leader, Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar has appeared in person for a court hearing on Monday for the first time since the government has been overthrown by the military in a coup that happened on 1st February and this has been told to the media outlets by her lawyer.

The leader Aung San Suu Kyi looked in good health and she has been holding meetings face-to-face with her legal team for close to 30 minutes before the hearing took place and this has been said by her lawyer Thae Maung Maung.

The lawyer went on to say that she has wished the people of Myanmar to stay healthy and affirmed the NLD (National League For Democracy) is going to exist as long as the people of Myanmar will exist. She has also added that the NLD has been founded for the people of Myanmar and it will try hard to restore democracy in the country.

The 75-year-old leader, Aung San Suu Kyi is a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate for her very long struggle as a leader to build democracy in her country. She is a role model for many and is also among the 4,000 people who are detained since the coup happened in early February. She is facing a lot of charges and they range from violating a state secret law and also for illegally possessing walkie-talkie radios.
