Apex Legends Has Introduced New Changes; Fans Don’t Seem To Like It Much

As a consistent Apex Legends player, you might have come across some changes in the gameplay. Recently, an across-the-board behind-the-scenes SBMM algorithm was introduced to the game. This has helped in placing players with similar sets of skills. Apex Legends skill-based matchmaking continues to upset long-time fans, but no word yet from devs.

The skill-based matchmaking problems present in the Call of Duty have turned huge in the past few months. Some of the fans expressed their disappointment by stating, ‘I play this game for fun, I don’t want to sweat in every match’, or, ‘Games like Call of Duty (and now Apex Legends) have always had a ranked mode for a reason.’

Being consistently rolled over in public matches, the competitive 6v6 games have turned out to be one of the least fun tools and this is exactly why player protection has been a facet of CoD. You can tank your recent game performance with some well-balanced grenades dropped at your feet and then reporting it on the player quality.

But, these merits are considered to be less evident in Apex Legends. The developers had to clear a lot about the disadvantages of SBMM on Twitter and Reddit.

There are certain things to highlight, for instance, the problems occurring during playing with friends. This 3-person Battle Royale game is developed to be played with friends. But, many players are complaining about the fact that they are no longer able to match up with their less-skilled or more-skilled friends; the game progresses to become intricate.

The sheer random nature of Battle Royale is also a problem for the players. If you are looking to play Apex, there are chances that you will have to play with two random teammates and that too without mics. It must also be taken into account that Apex is already categorized under Ranked mode, a mode many users had turned to play in the hope of getting matched with players of the same skill level.

However, the Respawn devs haven’t made any comment yet on the unannounced SBMM.
