Final Fantasy VII Producer And Co-Director Came Across A New Sight Just Weeks Before The Release

In the rarest of moments, when life emulated art, Yoshinori Kitase, Final Fantasy VII producer and co-director Naoki Hamaguchi, got hold of something strikingly new. Final Fantasy VII Remake’s producer and co-director come across a church with a flower bed in Germany much like in the game.

The already fans of the Final Fantasy VII might be able to see the significance of the change right away, but the ones who are new to this might be a little surprised to find out how suitable this search has been for the duo.

One of the most strikingly significant locations in the original Final Fantasy VII on the Sony PlayStation was a church that was located in the Midgar’s Slums. It is this particular place where Cloud meets Aerith, the flower girl.

The most fascinating thing about this church is that it is one of the only places in the Slums where flowers can grow. A blooming flower bed is present in the center of the floor that Aerith tends to. Due to some circumstances when the mission goes wrong and Cloud falls through the roof of the church, the flowers present beneath acts like a cushion that supports his fall.

This particular location comes into play a lot of times throughout the mythos of the Final Fantasy VII. As for the starters, it is not the only place that marks the first meeting of Cloud and Aerith but it is also where the team first encounters the Turks, a black-ops division of Shinra.

In the game, if the players return to the church by using a keycard that could be dug up in the Bone Village, in the third disc they would be able to see the ghost of Aerith who tends the flowers but as Cloud approaches her, she tends to vanish.

Advent Children, which is the sequel film for the Final Fantasy VII also, has one of the main location backdrops. As the movie begins, Cloud remains present in the church. And, eventually when the movie progresses, while looking out for Cloud, Tifa meets a powerful enemy in the church and has a truly strong battle amidst the flowers.

In the film’s third act, Cloud gets to discover a secret spring of healing water which is sent by Aerith’s spirit present beneath the flowers. And, it is this water that has the power to heal Cloud of the Geostigma disease. At the end of the movie, he finally uses this water to heal everyone else.

It’s surprising how both Kitase and Hamaguchi came across such a sight in Germany just weeks before their game is set to be released all over the world.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake was all set to be released this week on March 3, 2020. But as it was announced by Kitase, back in the month of January, that in order to perfect the game they had to push the release date back to April 10, 2020.
