Sushma Swaraj no more, passes at 67 after facing a massive cardiac arrest on Tuesday
Despite a severe medical condition and prolonged hospitalization, the veteran BJP leader refused to give up and continued to serve her country. However, on Tuesday evening Sushma Swaraj left many hearts broken with her untimely death due to a massive cardiac arrest. She was rushed to AIIMS Delhi at 10.15pm.
The 67 yr old lady has been an active member in politics since 1977 and has helped many to overcome their losses. She became popular for helping Indians staying abroad by responding to them promptly over a tweet. She was a mass leader but her ill health forced her not to contest the Lok Sabha election earlier this year and she opted out of the new government.
The demise of one of India’s best-known politicians has come as a shock to her loved ones as well as other political members crossing the party line. She has been suffering from poor health for a long time and had a kidney transplant in 2016. She was one of her kind and condolences started pouring in with the news of her death.
Emotional Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the powerful leader’s death by tweeting Sushma Swaraj will be remembered deeply for her immense service to India and it is a personal loss for him.
The Delhi Government has declared two-day mourning in the capital for paying homage to the former External Affairs Minister. Her mortal remains will be kept for 3 hours at the BJP headquarters on Wednesday for people to pay tributes and will be cremated with full state honors at 3 pm on Wednesday.
Sushma Swaraj‘s death is a great loss for the nation and leaves a legacy of an easily accessible politician.
